A Plan To Convert Christians To Islam
I have a bullet proof plan to convert Copts (Egyptian Christians) to Islam. This plan can apply to anyone that you would like to convert to Islam but I want to specifically address Copts.
Before I disclose my plan, let’s learn from history and see what plans have failed in the past.
Torture
If you have read history, you should know that throughout history Copts have been very resilient to coercion or conversion by force. The Romans tried it:
Romans showed brutality in their persecution of Christians. They had advanced equipment invented only for this purpose. They adopted very aggressive torture methods like: lashing, sloughing, stoning, ripping off organs, gouging out eyes, etc….
We all know how that worked out, eventually the entire Roman empire became Christian:
The persecution continued till the tolerant reign of Constantine the Great (ruled 306 - 337) who finally admitted Christianity as the official religion of the empire.
Then the Persians came and decided to give it a shot:
Suddenly in 619 the Persians, Romans’ old foes, conquered Egypt and occupied for 10 years. The period was nothing but a continued persecution of Egyptians. Thousands of monks were slain, others were severely tortured.

Taxation & Second Class Treatment
Obviously that didn’t work and eventually the Persians retreated. Only to be followed by the Byzantines and then finally the Arabs. It’s interesting to know that the Copts actually helped the Arabs conquest Egypt.
In 639 AD, Arab armies led by general Amr ibn El-Ãs advanced to Egypt, defeated the Byzantines and in 641 AD all the Egypt land felt under the Arab rule.
Copts are said to have helped the newcomers in a hope to see a more tolerant rule.http://www.youregypt.com/ehistory/history/islamic/arabconquest/index.htm
The Arabs took a different approach which was a nice relief from what Copts were previously accustomed to.
The Moslem conquerors posed two options for Copts: whether to convert to Islam or to pay a poll tax.
Current Conditions
Today’s conditions of Copts compared to what happened in the past is an improvement. I will actually go as far as saying that Copts are getting preferential treatment. “How?” you ask. Well, let’s look at some facts.
Sports
Copts have dominated Egyptian sports (only soccer is really considered sport in Egypt). The list of Copts in sports is so long that I was able to only find one:
I never faced any problems during my football career in Egypt despite the fact I was the only Christian player.
Politics
Politics is also dominated by Copts. See for yourself and look at th list of Egyptian ambassadors. Do you see how Copts dominate? I was able to spot 3 names. How many do you see?
Also take a look at this list of Coptic Politicians - there is a whopping 17 names on that list.
Others
For a list of other prominent Copts that show how dominant Copts have become in Egyptian society, see this list on Wikipedia.
Lessons Learned
So what have we learned so far? Force, violence and coercion with a few attacks here and there on Copts and their churches will probably not work.
Also taxation and treating Copts as second class citizens hasn’t worked well and hasn’t succeed in converting them to Islam. Copts actually seem to be growing in population and are estimated to be between 5 and 15 million.
Copts in Egypt constitute the largest Christian community in the Middle East, as well as the largest religious minority in the region, accounting for an estimated 10% of Egyptian population.
Why Convert the Copts
The most obvious reason is that the Muslim population is dwindling and is in desperate need of new recruits. Converting 10 million copts will be a nice boost to the current Muslim population of 1.27 billion increasing it by a staggering 0.6%.
The second reason is that Copts are a threat to Muslims in Egypt and have consistently and presistently converted Mulsims to Christianity. Conversion numbers are not readily available but are in the tens if not hundreds. For your information, I found a couple of converts here and here. These conversions take place because of the liberal and forgiving Egyptian legal system that is based on Islamic Sharia.
In February, 2008, an Egyptian judge, Muhammad Husseini of a court in Cairo ruled in an unprecedented case that a Muslim who converted to Christianity cannot legally change his religious status, although he may believe what he wants in his heart. Judge Muhammad Husseini said that according to sharia, Islam is the final and most complete religion and therefore Muslims already practice full freedom of religion and cannot convert to an older belief (Christianity or Judaism). Husseini also told the administrative court that “He (Hegazy) can believe whatever he wants in his heart, but on paper he can’t convert.”
The Plan
To summarize, the following did not and does not work in converting Copts to Islam:
- Torture
- Violence
- Murder
- Taxation
- Second-class treatment
It is time to try something new. Something radical. We can call it Neo Radical Islam. The tenets of Neo Radical Islam are very simple:
- Love
It is a requirement that all Muslims must love all non-Muslims. I am sure we can find a verse in the Quaran to justify this. If you know of one, please add it to the comments.
- Tolerance
Muslims are now ordered to tolerate everyone that is not Muslim or not “normal”. That includes Jews (I know this is hard but we must try). Gay Jews must especially be tolerated even if we don’t agree with their judeo-gay lifestyle.
- Forgivness
Muslims must forgive anyone who insults Islam or the prophet. We will no more burn, destroy and kill to defend Islam or Allah. Muslims believe that Allah is omnipotent, so clearly he doesn’t need our help in defending him or his prophet. Unless you don’t actually believe that Allah is powerful, in that case, go ahead and kill all you want.
- Fairness & Equality
Muslims are to treat everyone with fairness and equality. If a Copt is more qualified to be president, by all means, vote for him. If a Copt is a better soccer player, then get him on the team, maybe one of these days we will qualify to the world cup. Basically, judge everyone by the content of their character and not by their religious beliefs.
- No head covers
Hijab/head covers are now officially band under the Neo Radical Islam. They serve no purpose and are not an indication of purity or fidelity. So if you think your sister or cousin is a “nice girl” because she is covered up - think again. I have tons of friends that are dating covered girls. Really, the head cover means nothing. Finally, I like to look at and enjoy God’s greatest creation, so stop covering up.
I don’t think the whole hijab thing is Egyptian or even Muslim anyways. I don’t recall any of my friend’s sisters or mothers being covered up when I was growing up in Egypt. So, what the hell happened in 25 years?
- Pigs & Apes
Muslims must not refer to pigs and apes as Christians and Jews. It is very offensive to both pigs and apes.
How & Why This Plan will Work?
On a personal note, I am a Copt but to be completely honest, I am not very devout. I am more of a humanist. Basically, I like all the peaceful stuff in Christianity and Buddhism and I am not a huge fan of violence and hate in other religions (I am not going to say names, you know who you are). But you know what! I am willing to consider converting to Islam if you can show me that it is a loving and peaceful religion. Showing me that Islam is a peaceful religion is not the same as telling me “Hey, Islam is a religion of peace”. That’s not enough. I want to see fundamental change. I want to hear Friday sermons that talk about love, friendship, unity and forgiveness. I don’t want to hear Sheikhs saying that it is ok to kill non-mulsims, it’s ok to not shake their hands or befriend them, it is ok to rob them, you should not have them as your superiors, and so on… If you don’t know what I am talking about, just walk a random street in Egypt on Friday and listen to one of the sermons.
So, let’s show the world that Muslims can really be peaceful, loving and forgiving people through not just their words but also their actions.
